Chapter 555 Things Didn’t Go According to His Plan
Chapter 555 Things Didn’t Go According to His Plan
Damien had a rough idea as to why Frank was here.
“President Lawrence, is Mrs. Lawrence around?” Frank asked.
He was always terrified around Damien.
“She’s not. She took Neil to the mall.”
“She’s not here?” Frank wondered whether Damien knew about this. If he brought it up so abruptly,
wouldn’t that make Damien privy to his personal secrets?
“Are you here about your affair with Iris Benson?” To his surprise, Damien made the first move to bring
this up.
Frank felt a little awkward. “Uh, yes. Everyone’s saying that Mrs. Lawrence is the one who spread the
word, so I just wanted to ask her how she came to know about this.”
Damien snorted. “Did you know that the Iris that you were interested in and the Iris that you actually
slept with are two different people?”
Frank didn’t understand this. He looked at Damien in confusion. “What do you mean by that?”
“You fell for Iris Benson, the movie star, but the woman you slept with is her younger twin sister.”
“What?” Throughout his life, Frank had been tricked twice, and Iris was the one behind both times.
This didn’t bode well with him. His head buzzed.
“What the hell’s going on? Why are there two Iris Bensons?”
“She used her sister’s fame to trick everyone. Her sister was the one who acted in those films and
shows, and she set up her film production company with her sister’s connections. She’s as sneaky as
they come.”
Frank was dumbfounded for a very long time. He even forgot to ask about how Clarissa had found out
about this.
He still couldn’t wrap his mind around the whole thing by the time he got home. Thanks to this blast
from the past, he realized how much of a fool he had been.
Damien’s lips curled into a faint smile after Frank left.
He had deliberately told Frank about the truth so that Frank would know how dumb he had been. He
wanted Frank’s hatred for Iris to grow, so he could pit the two of them together. It didn’t matter to him
which one of them was to lose the fight—Damien would be happy with either outcome.
It was a repeat of the whole fiasco with Madelynn and Lucy. He was happy to see either one of them
die.
Shortly after Frank left, the police came to tell him about the end result of Madelynn’s case.
Previously, Damien had told them to give him a heads up the moment they had any news. They were
here to give him updates on the case.
At this moment, Clarissa happened to come home with Neil. She had brought him to the mall to buy
some clothes.
“President Lawrence, we’ve already found out what happened to Madelynn. A man named David
Ponce was behind it. He removed Madelynn’s oxygen tube because he bought a pair of shoes
Madelynn had been advertising, but when they arrived, the quality wasn’t up to his expectation. He
wanted to return the shoes, but she didn’t allow him. That’s when he got the idea to murder her.”
Damien was rendered speechless from shock.
“Isn’t that much too silly a reason to murder someone? Aren’t there any other suspects?” Clarissa
asked, just as surprised.
“No, ma’am. That’s all we have.”
She glanced at Damien. Before this, she had suspected that he was behind this, but now it seemed
that she’d been wrong.
After the police left, Damien didn’t tell Clarissa that Frank had come.
She said, “I’m probably going to have to leave today. I have classes tomorrow.”
“Stay another night. I’m going to Florin tomorrow, anyway.”
Clarissa considered it. “I guess that’s okay, but we’ll have to leave early. I’m worried something will crop
up at the university. Let’s sleep earlier tonight.” Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
He stared at her. “What are you thinking? Even if I really wanted to do something, isn’t it only
reasonable for you to do your part?”
“We’re divorced,” she retorted.
Damien laughed. Her little quip meant nothing to him.
Unfortunately for him, Neil spent the night in their bed again, so he didn’t have the time to do anything.
After Neil fell asleep, Clarissa firmly rejected him, saying that they would wake Neil up.
Alas, rhings didn’t go according to Damien’s plan.
