Chapter 468 The Comeback Press Conference
"Mr. Knight came to see me in person; how could I not be surprised?" Tommy
answered naturally, then directly asked, "What brings you here?"
Alaric said, "Yesterday, my wife called Josep, and Josep mentioned that he hasn't been able to reach you recently. So, he asked us to contact you and have you call him back."
"For this?" Tommy was genuinely surprised that Alaric would come all this way for such a small matter.
Tommy said, "It's my fault. I changed my phone number a few days ago and forgot to tell Uncle Josep. I'm really sorry for making you come all this way for such a small thing, Mr. Knight."
Alaric said, "No problem, I had nothing else to do anyway," Alaric said, looking up at the house Tommy was living in. "It seems Mr. Reaves is doing well at Far East International."
"Just okay," Tommy replied, "It's been a few days, and you look much better than before. It seems your health is no longer an issue. Congratulations."
"Thank you," Alaric said, "I've delivered Josep's message, so I won't keep you from work. Next time you change your number, remember to inform Josep so he doesn't worry about you."
Tommy said, "I will, Mr. Knight. Take care."
Tommy watched Alaric get into his car and drive away.
Seeing Alaric in such good condition really shocked Tommy.
Could he have recovered already? It was a chronic illness of many years, and he was at death's door several times before. How could he recover so swiftly?
Tommy didn't call Josep back immediately but drove to Far East International.
Tommy was a few minutes late because he had met Alaric that morning, which was his first time being late since joining Far East International.
"Sorry, Mr. Vale, I'm late today," Tommy immediately explained. "I was about to leave this morning when I saw Alaric outside my house."
Tommy added, "He came early this morning to find me. He said Uncle Josep was worried because he couldn't reach me and asked him to tell me to call back. The main point is that Alaric seems to have fully recovered."
Ambrose asked, "How is that possible?"
Tommy said, "If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it either."
"If he has really recovered, we'll hear about him returning to Nexus Innovations in the next few days." Ambrose angrily slammed the table. "How can Alaric be so resilient? So many times, he was hanging by a thread, yet he just wouldn't die!"
Dealing with Alaric during his treatment was the best time, but then Neil suddenly showed up, keeping a close watch on Ambrose, making it difficult to act.noveldrama
Ambrose asked, "Did you find someone skilled in disguise techniques?"
Tommy said, "Yes, his name is Robbie Ellis. He can make it look very real."
"Good," Ambrose said, "Have him on standby. I might need him soon." Tommey nodded. "Understood."
Ambrose said, "You can go now."
After Tommy left, Ambrose tapped his fingers on the table and calculated something in his mind.
Just as he said, if Alaric had recovered, he would return to work immediately. Sure enough, the next day, there was a news conference announcing Alaric's official return. Logically, Alaric wasn't someone who acted particularly high-profile. Even if he returned to work, he wouldn't hold a global live news conference. This was a warning.
Since this was a globally broadcast press conference, anyone interested could watch it regardless of where they were.
In the hospital room, Cormac, who was taking care of Rowena, quickly turned on the TV to watch the live broadcast.
On TV, Alaric faced various reporters, answering their questions naturally and professionally, fully displaying the charisma and authority of an international group director.
Cormac commented, "All these years, we consulted every doctor, but to no avail. We were really worried he might suddenly die from an attack. Who would have thought..."
"Isn't this destiny? Stellan was sent by God to save him," Rowena said happily. Cormac said, "Yes, it's destiny, just like us."
Rowena's cheeks turned a bit red at Cormac's sudden sweet talk. Cormac gently placed his ear on her belly and said, "Let me listen to what our baby is doing now."
Rowena couldn't help but hit him lightly and said, "It's not even three months yet and the baby isn't formed. What can you hear?"
Cormac knew he couldn't hear anything but couldn't resist trying.
Rowen said with disappointment, "Seeing Stellan's triplets, I feel envious. I had hoped
to have twins if not triplets, but as it turns out, I only have one child." "One is good. Having multiple babies is so hard," Cormac said honestly, "Galatea had artificial insemination, which easily leads to multiple births. She almost died during delivery; it was so scary. We already have Aurora, and one more child is just right." "Alright." Cormac's words instantly comforted Rowena. She took Cormac's hand and said, "Cormac, I know you want me to stay in the hospital because you are worried, but I truly feel fine now and no longer wish to remain here."
"Okay." Rowena smiled and nodded.
At Nexus Innovations' office, Stellan also watched Alaric's entire news conference.
The most common comment was: [Alaric is so handsome. Why is such a high-quality man married? Another day of envying Stellan!]
Seeing these comments, Stellan's vanity was greatly satisfied.
After watching the news conference, Stellan started packing up. With Alaric back, it was time for her to leave.
Although her time as acting director wasn't long, there was still a lot to organize for the handover.
Just as she was almost done, the office door opened, and Alaric walked in.
Stellen said, "Alaric, you're just in time. I've almost finished organizing everything. We can start the handover now."
"No rush, let's put it off for now and head home," Alaric explained, "Cormac just called and said that Rowena has been discharged. They will be joining us for dinner tonight."
