Reclaiming Her Heart

Chapter 1235 Will Always Only Be His Weakness

The news that Raymond had agreed to give up his shares in the Montague Group spread like wildfire.

The discussions within the circle grew even more intense.

But for Selena, it was as if time had stopped. She was completely unaware of the outside world, receiving only snippets of information from the man known as "Sir." From these snippets, she pieced together Raymond's recent life.

Sir came again today. Though Selena couldn't see, her hearing had become more

acute.

His footsteps were distinctive, exuding a calm and unhurried demeanor.

The room she was in always had a soothing scent, not unpleasant.

The man helped her to sit by the window. The breeze outside made her hair sway. His fingers moved to tuck a few strands behind her ear but stopped just before touching her warm cheek, then casually withdrew.

"Yesterday, word got out that Raymond agreed with Christopher. As long as Christopher can bring you over, Raymond will give up all his shares in the Montague Group. Do you think he's being fair to the executives who fought alongside him? A man acting on impulse isn't worth entrusting your life to."

Selena had been composed these past few days, but her face changed instantly upon hearing this.

She even stood up, her chest heaving.

"He can't do this. I don't want Raymond to do this."

The man raised an eyebrow, a smile playing on his lips as he watched her reaction.

"If he gives up the CEO position of the Montague Group, who knows if he'll even make

it out of Silver Bay City alive? The Montague family doesn't care much for him, and many are eyeing him hungrily. If you go back to him now, you'll only be a burden, won't you?"

Selena's mind was in turmoil. She tried to calm herself, knowing this man had his own agenda. She couldn't let him manipulate her.

But her eyes reddened, and she bit her lip hard. She knew Raymond too well.

He never tried to hold onto anything. So when he did want to keep something desperately, he'd hold on even if it meant bleeding.

Raymond wasn't wrong. He had a bad temper, but he was always purer in his feelings than others.

Others would weigh the pros and cons, consider if it was worth it.

But not him. He'd give up everything and then ask if she wanted to be with him.

The man sat quietly in front of her, seemingly oblivious to her emotional turmoil. Ten minutes later, he spoke again.

"If I hand you over to Christopher's alter ego now, and he takes you to Raymond, Raymond will sign the transfer papers the next second. Selena, don't you realize? Someone as weak as you will always be his weakness."

Selena opened her mouth but couldn't argue.

After a long while, she felt a piece of paper placed in her hand. She gripped it tightly, hearing him speak softly.

"The root of all this is that you two aren't meant to be together. You come from different worlds. Forcing you together will only cause immense harm to one of you." With that, he took a casual sip of tea.

Selena clutched the paper, tears streaming down her face without her even realizing it.

Silent tears, without even a sob.

She was like a statue.

"Think about Raymond, bowing and scraping in front of those people for you. Think about him becoming an ordinary person, being hunted, always failing. You know how dirty this circle is. The unfairness he'll face will only increase, especially since he's already offended the top-tier Smith family."

"Stop..."

The more the man spoke, the more terrified Selena became, her heart pounding wildly.

She couldn't think rationally about the reasons behind it all.

She suddenly fell into a frenzy of self-loathing. It was all her fault.

If she hadn't appeared in Raymond's life, he would always be the proud Raymond.

He could ignore all the rules, thriving in Silver Bay City.

It was all her fault.noveldrama
