Reclaiming Her Heart

Chapter 1236 Selena, Don't Push Yourself

Selena's head was spinning, and her anxiety was so intense that she felt a throbbing pain at the back of her skull. Her head hurt so much that she felt nauseous.

She didn't realize that the incense burning in the room was greatly affecting her emotions.

The man stood up and gently helped her.

"You need to rest. Stop worrying about all this for now."

Selena was guided to the bed. As soon as she lay down, her headache worsened.

The man placed a pill in her mouth.

"You won't be able to rest properly in this state. Take this sleeping pill and stop overthinking."noveldrama

Like a puppet on strings, Selena slowly opened her mouth and swallowed the pill.

The man sat by the bed, looking at her beautiful face. He couldn't resist reaching out to gently brush a strand of hair away from her ear.

Selena had already fallen asleep and didn't notice his touch.

The man stayed quietly by the bed for ten minutes, his gaze fixed on the incense burning nearby.

The amount of incense was already enough to make her thoughts chaotic, but Selena's willpower was stronger than most.

If they stayed here any longer, Raymond's people would soon find them. They couldn't afford to waste any more time.

He took out something and added it to the incense. This action was noticed by someone who had just entered the room.

"Sir, the current dosage is already at its limit. If you increase it any further, Ms. Fair might suffer some brain damage."

But the man didn't hesitate to increase the dosage.

"Don't worry. The effects on the brain are reversible. Even if she experiences some short-term issues, she'll recover over time."

The other man stood respectfully at the door and said no more.

Another day passed.

When Selena woke up, her mind felt much clearer, but she had no idea about the insidious effects of the incense.

It could make her confused with just a few words and then make her feel incredibly relaxed after a good sleep.

She fumbled her way to the window, feeling the breeze from outside.

A few minutes later, she felt her way along the wall to the door and opened it.

There was no one guarding the door. She continued to feel her way down the hallway.

Her footsteps were light, and from the echo, she could tell the hallway was long. This mansion was quite large.

When she reached one of the rooms, she heard voices inside.

"Christopher's goal is to kill Raymond. Once Raymond signs the share transfer, he won't live to see the next day."

"Donovan has also expressed strong dissatisfaction with Raymond, and Lawrence is still aggressively blocking the Montague Group's business."

"I have to say, the Montague Group is really ungrateful. Raymond has done so much

for the Montague family, yet no one stands by him. Grace even tampered with Raymond's car. He had an accident this morning and broke two fingers."

Hearing this, Selena's heart skipped a beat.

The man inside slowly turned to where she was standing, a smirk on his face.

He had obviously known she was eavesdropping and had said those things for her to

hear, pushing her to make a decision.

She and Raymond needed to sever ties immediately!

Selena, unable to see, tried to retrace her steps.

But in her haste, she tripped, losing one of her shoes and hitting her forehead on the ground, making her dizzy.

The door behind her suddenly opened, and footsteps approached.

It was the man's voice.

Soon, someone was by her side, helping her up.

Her leg hurt, and she could feel someone kneeling beside her. Then, the missing shoe

was slipped back onto her foot.

The man noticed her feet were quite beautiful.

He lowered his eyelashes and slowly stood up. "Are you okay?"

Selena nodded and felt her way along the wall, trying to walk back.

"Selena, don't push yourself."

He held her arm, but she stopped.

She leaned against the wall, her voice hoarse.

"I want to see Raymond. Please, let me see him. I'm begging you."
