Reclaiming Her Heart

Chapter 1237 There is One More Path

Selena's life had never been easy. She often found herself in tough spots, but she rarely begged others.

The man's eyes flickered with a hint of curiosity, but not much else.

"So, you want me to see him? And then what? Watch him sign the transfer papers? You love him, but you're gonna drag him down yourself?"

Selena fell silent. That was the part that hurt the most.

The man gently held her arm. "I'll take you back. You can't see right now, so don't wander around."

But Selena didn't move. She shook off his hand, tears streaming down her face.

It was strange. She didn't want to cry, but thinking about Raymond's broken fingers made her heart ache.

She knew him too well. Even with broken fingers, he wouldn't go to the hospital at such a critical moment.

He rarely cared about himself.

Before she came into his life, he was indifferent to everyone, even himself.

The man stood beside her, watching her like a lost animal trapped in a cage, completely clueless about how to find a way out.

She leaned against the wall, sliding down in a daze.

She sat on the floor, staring blankly ahead.

But she couldn't see anything. Her world was dark, just like the path she had to walk in the future.

The man wasn't in a hurry. He simply asked, "Are you thirsty? Want some water?"

Selena didn't respond.

Her lips were so dry they were cracked and bleeding. It hurt to speak, but she stubbornly refused to drink water, almost as if she was punishing herself.

The man squatted down, quietly watching her.

Selena could feel him beside her. The next second, he grabbed her chin.

He took a glass of water from a servant and brought it to her lips.

She frowned and tried to turn away, but his grip was strong, leaving a red mark on her chin.

After drinking half the glass, her lips were no longer as dry.

The man set the glass aside.

"So, you can't accept that you and Raymond are from different worlds? You can't

accept that he's suffering because of you? If you want to see him, I can help you. But I'll take you to Christopher first. After all, I'm not a good person."

Selena stiffened, saying nothing.

The man helped her up, his tone softening.

"Actually, there's another path you can take, but you don't want to. Selena, you're a smart woman."

Yes, there was another path, one Selena had been avoiding.

That was to completely sever ties with Raymond, to make him give up. She could even hurt him deeply in front of him, making him realize that Selena wasn't worth it, that his love was a joke.

If she did that, Raymond wouldn't hope for her return anymore.

His pride wouldn't allow him to beg her to stay.

She was led back to her room. The moment she smelled the incense, her mind started to blur, and a strong sense of self-loathing took over.

The man didn't push her. Only if she chose that path herself would she walk it firmly.

After a long time, Selena asked hoarsely, "How do I know you're not lying to me?"noveldrama

The man chuckled.

"Then I'll take you to see his situation for yourself."

At 9 PM, at Sky Gallery, Raymond's hand was only roughly bandaged, and Paul had dragged him out for drinks.

Everyone in their circle knew that Raymond was giving up the Montague Group for Selena. When he walked into the private room, the looks he received were strange.

Two rich kids were discussing the women they'd recently hooked up with. They wore tailored suits and had a disdainful look in their eyes.

"That girl? I've been wanting to break up with her. She's so stupid. I told her I'd marry her, and she gave me her first time. She's had three abortions for me. Even if I dump her, no other man would want her."

"These women are brainless, believing any promise. But I heard her family background isn't great, so it's no wonder she trusts men too much."

Someone else chimed in, "You guys are so heartless. Be careful, these things might come back to bite you."

"In families like ours, what's wrong with making a few women have abortions? We're all like this. Not everyone is a hopeless romantic."

The mention of "hopeless romantic" brought a brief silence to the room.

Everyone knew that recently, when Raymond was mentioned, the term "hopeless romantic" came up the most.

So it was clear that this rich kid was mocking Raymond for being so pathetic over a woman, soon to lose his position as the Montague Group's president. Wasn't he just a hopeless romantic?

In the past, no one would have dared to mock Raymond like this.

Everyone keenly realized that Raymond's status was about to change.
