Chapter 263 Persuading Him With His Favorite Food

I nodded and walked into the villa. Jeremiah and Elsa saw me going in and

followed me as well.

Mr. Simpson saw it and stopped them. "Did I say that you two can go inside? Why are you inviting yourselves in?"

Elsa wore an embarrassed expression and fell silent. Then, she looked at Jeremiah. He put on a flattering smile and said, "I came here to see you, Mr. Simpson. Please do me a favor and let me in. You can always make up your mind after you listen to what I have to say."

Jeremiah looked at me, giving the impression that he was asking for my input.

I said nonchalantly, "You can invite anyone you want, Mr. Simpson. I have the confidence to make you choose me eventually."

Mr. Simpson's expression relaxed when he heard what I said, as if he was satisfied with my words. He looked at Jeremiah and scoffed. "I'll do this young lady a favor and let you two in as well."

I gave both of them a sidelong glance before I followed Sebastian into the villa. He had a dedicated guest room. At that moment, all four of us sat in there with him sitting across from us.

We had just taken our seats when Jeremiah immediately took a contract out of his bag as if he were concerned that I would take his business opportunity away from him.

"This contract will show you how serious I am, Mr. Simpson. If you can help out Cornell Group, you'll find that the offer we're making you is the best in the entire industry."

Elsa nodded and backed him up. "That's right, Mr. Simpson. Cornell Group is very serious about asking for your help."

Then, she showed her signature pitiable look. It felt like she expected Mr. Simpson to agree to their offer out of pity.

However, it didn't work on Mr. Simpson at all. He scoffed when he saw the look on Elsa's face. He turned around and faced Jeremiah before asking cockily, "Do you think I'm that hungry for money? How shallow!" Then, he turned around and looked at me. "What about you? What do you have to say to me?"

I chuckled and put the food container on the table. Then, I poured him a bowl of stew as he watched. "I'm going to guess that you still haven't eaten anything at this time of day, Mr. Simpson. I made this pork stew. Have some, please."

Mr. Simpson rested his gaze on the bowl of stew when he heard what I said and involuntarily gulped.

I spent a great deal of time and effort to learn about his personal preferences in my past life. That

was how got to know that he was a fanati@about delicious food,

especially stew. Pork stew was his absolute favorite.

Back then, I came up with ideas for different dishes and brought them to Mr. Simpson every day, come hell or high water. I even became his wife's close friend.

Jeremiah wouldn't have had the chance to meet with Mr. Simpson and show him his goodwill if it wasn't for my efforts.

I was aware that Mr. Simpson didn't like younger people who were rude and uncourteous. That was why I kept playing the peacemaker between them in my past life.

However, no one would help Jeremiah in this life.

I watched anticipatingly as Mr. Simpson lifted the bowl and took a small sip of the

stew before putting it down.

Jeremiah saw it and shot me a taunting look.

I knew what he meant. He was

mocking me for doing something he found to be redundant and botching

the business negotiation. turned my gaze away and ignored him.

At the next moment, Mr. Simpson said, "You guys can leave now."

He pointed at me and added, "You're staying."

"What?" Jeremiah was shocked. When he looked at the bowl of stew, he suddenly understood something. He said hastily, "It's nothing more than a meal, Mr. Simpson. I can take you to the most upscale restaurant in the city if you're hungry

At the next moment, Mr. Simpson's eyebrows knitted together. He pushed a button on the intercom, not even gracing Jeremiah and Elsa with so much as a glance.

"Get a few security guards here. I need to kick two people out of here."noveldrama
