Chapter 1127
Chapter 1127:
The hesitation in his eyes quickly turned to panic. He spun around to Allison, pleading desperately, “Ms. Clarke, please, don’t sue me! I don’t want to go to jail!”
He struggled to speak, his eyes locked on hers. “We used to work together. Are you really going to be so cold? I promise I won’t make the same mistake again! Please give me a chance!”
He thought that if Allison forgave him, he might avoid prison.
The people around them murmured in confusion. “What’s he doing? Why does he keep begging Ms. Clarke to forgive him? Does he think it could settle everything?”
Allison heard their whispers and turned to look at Abram. He seemed almost vicious now. Old memories came rushing back.
Years ago, Abram had been full of youthful energy, and his designs had been fresh and unique.
But somewhere along the way, he had gone down the wrong path. Back then, he had apologized sincerely, saying he admired Allison’s talent and swore that he’d never make the same mistake again. Therefore, after the fallout between Allison and the studio, she didn’t want to deal with him and let it go. But the truth was, he hadn’t changed.
Now, he was admitting his mistake just because he was scared.
“‘Abram, I know you too well. You would have certainly struck me twice as hard if I hadn’t revealed your scheme today,” Allison said, relentless this time. She had thoroughly discerned Abram’s true nature.
“‘You began plotting with many to deceive me long ago, confirming your intent to ruin me.’”
Everyone around nodded in agreement.
“Ms. Clarke is absolutely correct. Show him no mercy!”
Indeed, a false accusation against Allison would not only damage her own reputation but also cast a shadow over Charisma Company. It could even tarnish the entire Lloyd family’s name. This was particularly critical now that she was Kellan’s partner. Given such compounded stresses, a less resilient Allison might have crumbled. This just showed the extent of Abram’s reprehensibility.
Abram countered immediately, without faltering, “Of course not, Ms. Clarke. I’ve never tried to ruin your life. You know, my lie was born out of fear for the studio’s future.”
Tears stained his unkempt appearance.
“Ms. Clarke, please believe that I recognize my errors now and I am committed to amending my ways.”noveldrama
However, his woeful state only deepened Allison’s revulsion instead of garnering her sympathy.
“‘If only you could openly confess your malicious motives and confront your true self, you might still retain some respect from others,’” Allison’s every utterance struck Abram like a knife to the heart. “‘You’ve disappointed those who idolized you for so long. They put their faith in you, yet you’ve not only failed to live up to their expectations, but also shied away from facing the truth.’”
Allison remembered observing during the competition how many spectators admired Abram. Ignorant of the reality, they had chosen to support him. But now, their idol seemed to have toppled from his pedestal.
“‘Abram, you may fool yourself, but henceforth, mockery will haunt you wherever you go. The label ‘plagiarist’ will cling to you forever, the fitting consequence you’ve earned.’” Her words fully ignited Abram’s fury. Though he had been curbing his anger, pleading pitifully, it now felt utterly futile. Allison’s scorn was now his ultimate disgrace!
