Chapter 1136
Chapter 1136:
Hoyt’s loud declarations caught Fabian’s attention.
“‘Mr. Hoyt Lloyd, your father mentioned you wish to represent the Lloyd family in investment discussions,’” said Fabian, assessing Hoyt critically.
Without Brook’s influence in Ontdale, Hoyt would have been unwelcome. The project they discussed was merely procedural. He hadn’t expected that Hoyt would actually take it seriously.
“Yes,” Hoyt responded, oblivious to the underlying implications.
“‘Our Lloyd family leads Ontdale across various industries, and we’re venturing into the hotel business,’” he stated, fist clenched confidently. “‘I understand the Dibya Group seeks partners here in Ontdale. Clearly, the Lloyd Group is the superior choice.’”
Fabian’s smile broadened upon hearing this.
“‘But you should know we, the Dibya Group, don’t have experience in hotel construction. So, how will you tackle this challenge?’” Fabian inquired.
Boosted by Fabian’s question, Hoyt felt his confidence surge.
“‘Fear not, Mr. Morgan. The Lloyd family’s extensive connections span all sectors in Ontdale. We’ll manage this perfectly,’” Hoyt declared.
His overconfident claim amused the onlookers. It was akin to building castles in the air, an unrealistic dream where connections trumped actual expertise.
A smirk flickered across Fabian’s face, yet he retained his composure. “‘Thank you for the invite, but the Dibya Group intends to explore other potential partnerships in Ontdale before making the final decision,’” Fabian replied, politely dismissing him.
Others shook their heads in disapproval.
“‘Hoyt obviously lacks experience in negotiation. He’s a total beginner,’” they commented.
“‘He’s not on Mr. Kellan Lloyd’s level at all.’”
“‘How can he make such baseless promises?’” they wondered.
Stiffening at the rejection, Hoyt replied, “Mr. Morgan, maybe you’re dismissing this too quickly. Let’s delve deeper into it.”
His resolve hardened under the watchful eyes of the crowd, including Kellan and Allison, who seemed entertained by the unfolding drama.
Hoyt couldn’t just walk away. He persisted, forcing a smile.
“‘This project will be a priority, leveraging all the Lloyd family’s resources,’” he asserted. “‘And you might not be fully aware of what our family can actually do.’”
His words were extremely arrogant. The crowd mocked his presumptuousness.
“‘How can two siblings be so different? Mr. Kellan Lloyd is competent in everything, whereas Hoyt seems utterly clueless,’” they mused.
“‘Mr. Morgan is exceedingly patient. I would have expelled this fool again,’” one spectator remarked.
“‘Although both he and Kellan are Brook’s sons, they don’t have the same mother. Maybe that’s why they’re so different. Clearly, Hoyt is unfit for serious responsibilities,’” another added dismissively.
Despite the criticism, Hoyt’s confidence only grew. He was a Lloyd, after all. Even though he was an illegitimate son, so what? He was backed by his father, the head of the Lloyd family!noveldrama
