Chapter 184 Carl's Unspoken Love
Carl strolled over to the window, watching Alexander approach with a phone in hand.
Carl smirked. "Let him come, no big deal. Have your guys pull back. It'll just be me and Cleo here."
Allison was still sprawled out on her bed, totally unaware that Alexander was at her doorstep.
"Tired?" Alexander asked Allison gently over the phone.
Allison responded with a sound full of grievance.
Alexander chuckled, standing outside the door. "Come open the door. I brought you something yummy!"
Allison blinked in surprise but quickly dashed out of her bedroom, ignoring everyone in the living room as she headed straight for the door.
"You're really here? What did you bring? I didn't have enough for lunch. I'm starving!" Allison pouted.
Alexander hung up the phone and walked in, wrapping an arm around Allison's waist as he guided her inside. He looked up and locked eyes with Carl.
"Why aren't you eating properly? You should go eat something first. You're too thin already, and it makes me worry." Alexander chided gently, ruffling Allison's hair before sending her off to eat.
Then he turned to Carl. "Mr. Hall, let's have a chat."
Carl snorted and turned to walk out. They stood outside the apartment building. Alexander lit a cigarette, making Carl frown.
"Allison doesn't like the smell of smoke," Carl said sharply.noveldrama
Alexander laughed. "I wouldn't smoke in front of her. This is a conversation between men. It's different from how I am with her. Mr. Hall, you're principled and single, you wouldn't understand these feelings."
Carl clenched his fists, fighting the urge to punch him. "Alexander, don't think I won't hit you just because we're here."
Alexander sneered, "Hit me? For what? Because I know Allison's identity? Even if I tell her now that I know she's Gaia, she won't be mad at me. But Mr. Hall, if she finds out you're using the Bennett Group to launder money, she might turn against you."
Alexander's words hit Carl like a knife to the heart, making his eyes flash with anger. He lunged at Alexander, and they started brawling.
Cleo, seeing the fight, ran to find Allison. "They're fighting, Allison!"
Allison, sitting at the dining table, didn't even look up, continuing to sip her soup. "It's okay. Let them fight. They're probably too idle. They won't settle down without a fight. Now, eat up. We have important work to do after dinner."
Downstairs, Alexander and Carl continued their fight. A security guard approached but was stopped by James.
"Go back to work. This isn't your concern," James said.
Carl and Alexander exchanged fierce blows, each landing a punch that sent them both to the ground. Lying side by side, they both started laughing.
"Allison might not seem to interfere with the Bennett Group, but Mr. Hall, don't forget what she's best at. She tracks every transaction. If you use the Bennett Group's accounts to launder money, she'll be the first to know," Alexander said, getting up and dusting off his suit.
Despite the fight, with bruises on his face, Alexander still looked every bit the dashing CEO.
Carl, on the other hand, looked disheveled, with a split lip and messy hair.

"I know you're using Genesis Creations' funds to build Allison's biotech company. When
I gave you the land, I never intended to use her money. So from now on, everything related to Allison is my responsibility. You don't need to worry about it," Alexander declared.
"What gives you that right?" Carl demanded.
"The fact that I'm her lover, her boyfriend," Alexander replied.
"But you're not the only one who loves her. I love her too!" Carl finally confessed, his voice thick with emotion.
Alexander's eyes narrowed with a mocking smile. "Love her? Mr. Hall, have you forgotten that you were the one who bought her from those who smuggled people across the border? That island was yours! She used to see you as her most hated person, yet you fell in love with her. Mr. Hall, you're truly pathetic."
Alexander's words were like a dagger to Carl's heart, causing him immense pain.
Carl's unspoken love for Allison had always been his deepest torment. If it weren't for him, Allison might not have had such a difficult life. But it was also because of Carl that Allison had come back safe and sound.
When Alexander had uncovered this truth, he had once considered killing Carl.
"How did you know? Alexander, you're just the richest man in Novaria. You couldn't have found out unless you have some hidden identity," Carl said, staring intently at Alexander, who remained unperturbed.
'Oh, please! Are you really that naive to think I can't have connections? Maybe you should check your assumptions at the door.' Alexander thought nonchalantly.
"Enough talk. I'm going back to be with Allison. If you have nothing else, Mr. Hall, you should return to your hotel and rest," Alexander said, heading back upstairs with a swagger.
Carl, gritting his teeth, followed him up.
Allison, now full and lying on the couch, watched as Alexander headed straight to the dining table. He picked up a bowl of leftovers and began eating.
Cleo's eyes widened in surprise. "I never thought the CEO of the Carter Group would eat leftovers!"
Her comment made Allison laugh. "Well, even CEOs have to save a penny or two! Besides, these leftovers are gourmet now!"
Cleo covered her mouth, giggling, and Allison joined in, the two of them laughing together.
Carl stood aside, not interested in the food.
Even eating leftovers, Alexander showed no discomfort, finishing everything on the table and washing the takeout containers.
After dinner, Alexander took out his briefcase and started working, while Allison and Cleo, with their headsets on, began working on their programs. Felix and Sabrina were connected from the hotel. Everyone was busy with their tasks, leaving Carl feeling like the odd one out.
"Should I order you some takeout?" Allison asked.
Frowning, Carl replied, "Takeout is neither nutritious nor sanitary."
Carl's refusal made Allison laugh. She picked up her phone and called Xavier. "Xavier,
it's me. Can you make a few dishes and bring them to my apartment? I'll send you the location."
Xavier agreed with a smile.
Allison hung up and resumed her discussion with Cleo.
What do you think?
