Chapter 639 Marcus Could Marry Into the Walker Family
When Lincoln and his brothers saw Natalie rubbing her temples, they couldn't bear to trouble her any further. Other than Mason, the other three glared at Marcus in unison.
Now that they realized how much they missed her, they regretted not treating her better from the start.
Marcus even wanted to break off the engagement at one point. How dare he?
"Then let's go together."
With Lincoln's decision made, the others had no objections.
Marcus' lips immediately curled into a smile. He put on a sincere look and said, "Thank you, Lincoln. Thank you, Hector. Thank you, Timothy. Also, thank you, Mason."
"Ugh!" Lincoln couldn't hold back and made a dramatic retching gesture, showing his undisguised disdain and disgust toward Marcus.
"Lincoln, are you feeling unwell?" Marcus asked with concern. "Hector, Lincoln seems like he's going to throw up. You should check on him."
"Shut up!" Hector was speechless. It was one thing for Marcus to fool Natalie, but did he think he could put on an act in front of them too?
They were all men, so how could they not see through his act?
Marcus smirked and turned to Natalie with a smile.
"Let's go back!" Natalie said, "As for Celeste, Mason, you should call her later to check if she got home safely. She's just a romantic at heart, and she meant no harm. Let's not blame her further."
"Nat, you don't have to make excuses for Celeste," Lincoln said as he pulled out his phone. "I've already spoken to Uncle David and Aunt Ellen. Since she likes meddling so much, I told Aunt Ellen to arrange some matchmaking for her."
"Hmm?" Hector chuckled. "Let her be. She brought this upon herself. Let's go home."
"Alright."
The Walker siblings, along with Marcus, Olivia, and Connie, left the club together. Since Mason was giving Olivia and Connie a ride home, he didn't join Natalie and the others.
When they arrived at the Walker residence, Charlotte was in the middle of discussing something with Gorge. When she saw Natalie return, she immediately smiled and called out to her.
"Nat, come here. Take a look if you like the wedding setup."
Natalie pulled Marcus along as she walked toward her. "Hi, Mom."
Before Natalie could prompt him, Marcus obediently called out, "Mother."
Charlotte was briefly stunned but then chuckled. "Come, have a seat."
She continued, "Marcus, it's good you're here. You and Natalie can take a look at the wedding setup together.
"I've spoken to the designer a few times, consulted your brothers, and even asked for input from a few young ladies. I'm still worried you wouldn't like it.
"I was just thinking of going to find you both tomorrow, but now, here you are!" Charlotte passed the tablet to Natalie and Marcus. "This is the final version we settled on. We showed it to Laura as well. She liked it quite a lot.
"The cascading crystal chandeliers will light up the venue. Beneath them will be an array of gardenias and baby's breath. On the other side, there will be red roses and lilies.
"As Nat walks down the aisle, fresh flowers will fall along her steps, creating a shower of petals. The chairs will be predominantly white, and there will be 300 banquet tables, each at a standard price of 20 thousand dollars.
"After that, there will be performances by celebrities and singers, so the guests can continue the event without you two having to attend to every table.
"The large screens will display your wedding photos throughout the event, alongside the story of how you two met. Coupled with the photos, the visuals will be breathtaking.
"Once the wedding is over, Marcus can bring Nat to the hotel's rooftop. A helicopter will be waiting there, so you can fly off for your honeymoon. You can go anywhere you want."
Listening to Charlotte's description, Natalie was relieved she had gotten involved. She was able to cut out a lot of the overly extravagant elements.
Otherwise, she truly feared that Charlotte would turn the wedding into a palace of gold.
"By the way, your brothers have all prepared wedding gifts for you. They will be at a display at the venue, showcasing everything they've gifted you.
"As for both families, we have also prepared some gifts. I've discussed it with Laura and Wesley. Everything will be transferred under your name alone."
Charlotte then turned to look at Marcus. "Do you have any objections?"
He quickly shook his head. "I don't. Natalie could just give me the word, and all my personal assets will be transferred to her."
Charlotte smiled. "I heard from Nat that you wanted to give her all your shares in Holden Group. Is that true?"
Marcus nodded. "Yes, but she refused to accept them."
"If she doesn't want them, let's not force it. We don't ask for much, only for you to treat her well after marriage.
"If she ever does something that upsets you, you aren't allowed to scold her, let alone lay a finger on her. Tell us, and we will talk to her ourselves.
"Nat has suffered a lot when she was with the Langleys. We found her too late and have done our best to make up for it.
"All I ask for is for Natalie to live freely and happily for the rest of her life. If marriage doesn't bring her the same happiness and freedom she enjoys here, I'll make sure she gets divorced.
"In that case, I don't care who you are or what status you hold. Even if I have to risk my life, I'll fight with everything I have to set her free from misery."
Marcus' expression was solemn. He promised, "Mother, don't worry. I'll never let you down. I'll never let Natalie regret marrying me."
Charlotte nodded. "One more thing. Promise me that if you and Natalie ever have any disagreements after marriage, you are not allowed to ignore her and give her the silent treatment."
"Rest assured. I'll never do that to her, nor will I ever scold her or hit her. I'll love her and cherish her." Marcus' words were sincere. "None of the things you're worried about will ever happen."
Charlotte's eyes shone with unshed tears. She knew what she said might be unnecessary, but she couldn't help it.
She owed Natalie too much. They had barely had time together, but now, she was getting married.
She hadn't even had the chance to fully love and dote on her yet, and now, her little girl was going to become Marcus' wife.
"Mom." Natalie noticed Charlotte's sorrow and hugged her tightly. "The Walker residence isn't that far from his house. Besides, the entire fifth floor ismine. I've already discussed it with Marcus. We'll come back and
stay over at least once a week." noveldrama
Marcus nodded. "Yes. I don't even mind if I have to marry into the Walker family."
"What nonsense." Charlotte patted Natalie's back. "Natalie, we don't need Marcus to marry into our family. But if you both choose to live here often after the wedding, your dad and I would be delighted.
"We have plenty of rooms here. Even if Laura and Wesley want to move in,
}UT
it won't be a problem. That way, the four of us can help raise your children. Then, the two of you can still enjoy your time together as a couple."
Kon
Natalie imagined that scene and was instantly filled with warmth.
However, if everyone moved here, the vast Holden Residence would become
empty.
Furthermore, Charles was still buried there, resting beneath the great maple tree. He had chosen to be
buried under that so that even innet
death he could still watch over Marcus. So, having everyone relocate permanently to the Walker residence wouldn't be possible.
What do you think?
