As Charlotte spoke, her eyes were wet with tears again. She hugged Natalie. "Nat, you've grown up. You can form your own opinion now, so I won't force you to do anything you don't like.

"Don't take my words to heart. Just live the way that makes you happy and at ease. If you love your career, then pursue it. If you love travelling, go wherever you want. If you want to stay home and be a housewife, I'll support you just the

"You must be tired! Go rest with Marcus! The wedding is just a few days away.

"For the next few days, you two don't have to do or worry about anything. Just relax and enjoy yourselves. When the day comes, all you need to do is be a beautiful bride and a handsome groom. Us parents will help out with everything else!"

"Okay. Thank you, Mom." Natalie stepped out of Charlotte's embrace and added, "Mom, I really love the wedding design and decorations you planned."

"It's great that you like it. I was worried that there are things you aren't satisfied with. We can still have the designer make adjustments."

"No need for that. Marcus and I both love it," Natalie said with a smile. Recently, whenever she returned to the Walker residence, she had found herself relaxing naturally. It was completely different from when she first came here.

"You're welcome. Go rest now. Gorge and I will check the venue tomorrow to ensure everything is absolutely perfect on the wedding day."

"Alright, you should get some rest too. Mom, don't overwork yourself."

Natalie stood up and took Marcus with her to the fifth floor.

"Mrs. Walker, Ms. Natalie truly sees this place as her home now," Gorge said warmly. "I still remember the first time she came here, she wouldn't accept you all."

"That's right!" Charlotte wiped the tears from her eyes. "Back then, Emma was still around. It was our fault for not handling things properly.

She turned toward Gorge. "By the way, how is she doing in prison?"

Gorge leaned in and whispered a few words into Charlotte's ear.

Gorge chuckled. "I don't think Ms. Natalie is lovestruck. If anything, it looks like Mr. Marcus is."

The two laughed at that. Charlotte felt more at ease, so she stopped overthinking things.

On the fifth floor, Natalie led Marcus into her bedroom. "Marcus, I'm going to shower and change. You should borrow some clothes from Lincoln."

"Huh?" Natalie was surprised. "When did they prepare them? Why didn't I know about it?"

Marcus' lips curled up. "You spend more time with me and stay at my place more often, so it's normal you didn't notice. I'm glad that your parents thought of me."

"Nat, thank you," he added.

"My parents are the ones who treat you well. Why are you thanking me? You should be thanking them," Natalie teased. "Marcus, you're thanking the wrong person."

"No, I should be thanking you." He stepped forward and wrapped his

going to shower and sleep. Want to shower together?"

And so, Marcus and Natalie entered the bathroom together.

The sound of running water echoed inside the bathroom as steam filled the

By the time it was over, Marcus carried Natalie out of the bathroom. She rested her head against his chest, her arms completely weak. "Marcus, I'm never showering with you again."

"Sure. We can discuss that again later." Marcus gazed down at Natalie, who was falling asleep in his arms, unable to suppress his smile.

He carried Natalie to the bed and put her down gently. He pulled the blanket over her and held her contentedly in his arms.

"Good night, sweetheart."

Natalie didn't even open her eyes, nor did she respond. She simply turned over and fell into a deep sleep.

At Holden Residence, Sheldon gathered Noah, Wesley, and Laura. Together, they reviewed the wedding plans and venue layout provided by the Walkers.

"Their wedding is just around the corner. We can't let anything go wrong on the big day," Sheldon said in a serious tone. "Noah, make sure Elijah leads the security team and works with the hotel's staff to

maintain order on the day.

"Yes, Mr. Phelps."

"Mr. Wesley, and Ms. Laura, you must dress your best that day, but make sure not

to outshine the groom and the bride.

"You have to walk in together so everyone knows that even though the late Mr. Holden Senior is no longer with us, you both have returned.

"Let the world know that Mr. Marcus isn't the only person in Holden Residence. After many years of being away, the two of you are finally back to attend his

wedding.

"Even though you two are divorced, the public doesn't know. On that day, you will still be seen as the loving couple of many years."
