The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 483

Hendrix was standing right outside.

The moment they locked gazes, Seline let out a cold laugh. "Well, well, if it isn't you, Mr. Freeman! What? Do you think you haven't done enough? Here to continue your role as the great educator?"

Hendrix ignored her, his eyes fixed on Noelle. "I need to talk to you."

Before Noelle could respond, Seline cut in, "Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to talk to Noelle like that?"

He stood there silently. Throughout the entire conversation, he didn't even spare Seline a single glance.

His dismissive attitude only made Seline's expression darken even further. Just as she was about to speak again, Noelle had already stood up.

"Can you watch Rosie for me?" she asked softly.

Seline clenched her teeth but finally nodded.

Noelle walked past her without a word, not even looking at Hendrix, and headed down the hallway. Hendrix glanced at Rosie on the hospital bed first.

Her eyes were closed, and her small face was pale. A thin IV needle was taped to her fragile hand, where the veins stood out so clearly that they seemed almost transparent.

Hendrix frowned slightly. After a moment, he turned and followed Noelle out.

She was sitting on a chair outside with her head bowed. Strands of her hair fell over her face, obscuring most of her features.

It was then that Hendrix noticed how much weight she had lost. Her entire frame seemed frail, radiating a sickly exhaustion.

The last time she had seen her looking so worn out, he had assumed it was because of the plagiarism scandal. Back then, he had secretly hoped she would come to him for help.

He could have silenced the overwhelming wave of public criticism. He could have even made the spineless Ebony, who didn't come to Noelle's defense, disappear from the entertainment industry. If he disappeared, his fans would naturally quiet down.

All he wanted was for her to yield. If she had told him she regretted it, he would have forgiven her.

But what Hendrix failed to realize was that her concerns had never been about herself. There had been a gap in their understanding.

He had never known about Rosie. That was why she had been so emotional when he brought up the topic of children.

As Hendrix was thinking about all that, Noelle lifted her head and asked, "So, what do you want to talk about?"

It was only then that Hendrix snapped out of his trance.noveldrama

"I've already contacted a medical

team. I've arranged a private jet for them. They be flying from abroad tomorrow, I've also looked it up.

Given Rosie's current conditiet

surgery is the best option. I'll get tested for a bone marrow match. If it's compatible, I'll be the donor," Hendrix said in one breath.

Honestly speaking, he had prepared him for Noelle to reject him. After all, he knew her very well.

When they divorced, she had refused to take anything with her, not even the custom-made wedding ring he had given her. She simply left it in the drawer.

And now, it was even more likely she would reject his help. But to his surprise, she didn't.

After staring at him for a moment, she nodded slowly and said softly, "I understand."

Hendrix pressed his lips together, about to say more, but Noelle spoke again, "Also, I'm sorry."
