Chapter 29
Males were raised from childhood to care for their mates thoroughly. In Therians,
the beast came first, meaning their instincts ruled above all.
So, when it came to matters like this, they didn't react with the kind of embarrassment that humans did.
"Okay," Analise said with a light laugh, letting go of Finlay's tail and giving him a gentle pat. "Let me go. I'll get you something to drink."
Finlay obediently released her, watching as she left with the cup. Then, without hesitation, he followed after her.
"Alright. Just wait for me at the top of the stairs."
With Finlay following close behind, Analise couldn't risk pulling out the Purification Potion. She needed him to stay put.
"I don't want to."
"Come on. You can still see me from here." Analise stood on her tiptoes and gave him a quick kiss on the corner of his lips. "Just wait here."
That soft, warm touch made Finlay freeze in place. By the time he snapped out of it, Analise had already turned and gone downstairs.
Once out of sight, she stopped at the landing, poured the Purification Potion into the water cup using the angle of the staircase to shield her, and then walked to the water dispenser bot.
"Ms. Chamber, how may I assist you?" the robot asked politely.
"I need some warm water," Analise replied.
"Understood." The robot took the cup and then asked again, "Would you like me to replace the remaining water?"
"No, just add the warm water, please."
"Okay."
Once the warm water was added, the robot handed the cup back to her.
Analise hurried back upstairs and handed the cup to Finlay. "Here. Drink this."
Finlay took the cup and chugged it in one go.
"Ana, can I sleep with you tonight?" he asked softly, his eyes red with tears.
"Mm... Fine. Just this once. Only because you're not feeling well," Analise said, turning and heading to her room. Finlay followed close behind.
Once she was in bed, she scooted over and left space for him.
Originally, she thought she'd be the one feeling embarrassed, but looking at him now, Finlay Sed
even more shy when in heat than she was.
"Come on. Get in," Analise said with an exasperated little smile. "Otherwise, go back to your own room."
Finlay's ears turned bright red. He obediently climbed into bed and lay down as stiff as a board.
His body still ached, but the potion had helped. His mind was clearer now, and he no longer acted on pure instinct.
Analise turned to look at his side profile, wondering if she'd given him the potion a little too early.
Feeling her gaze, Finlay finally shifted to face her. His cheeks were flushed, and heat radiated from his skin.
Since Analise had been woken up earlier, now that she was back in bed, drowsiness took over her quickly. She drifted off fast.
In her dream, she was shamelessly teasing a gorgeous man with eight-pack abs -running her hands all over his hard stomach and perfect butt.noveldrama
Honestly, it felt way too real.
When she woke the next morning, she realized she was wrapped around Finlay tightly.
"You're up?" Finlay asked in a hoarse voice.
Analise stretched her fingers, and it hit her why that dream had felt so real last night.
From the look on Finlay's face, it
seeme sed all night. His e
like he was sleepless
being
bloodshot, and he had dark circles.
Just as she opened her mouth to say something, she felt it. A warm rush between
her legs, flowing down her thigh.
Her eyes flew wide in panic. Her face turned bright red.
"What's wrong?" Finlay immediately sat up, noticing the shift in her expression.
"It's my blood cycle. Do you have any pads?" Analise mumbled from under the blanket, hiding her face as heat flushed up her neck.
She knew periods weren't something to be ashamed of, but still, she couldn't help feeling a little embarrassed.
What do you think?
