Chapter 0315
Lottie POV
"Let him go, 'Fluffy'. We still need him," Astaroth's voice cut through the moment, laced with irritation. But Fluffy didn't flinch, her entire focus remained locked on me, her teeth bared, the low growl rumbling deep from her chest vibrating the air between us. She awaited my command, not his.
"Well, isn't that unfortunate," Astaroth groaned, shaking his head, his voice dripping with exasperation. "It seems she's bonded with you... damn beast," he added. But his words felt false, theatrical even. I met his gaze, standing taller, the fire of defiance burning in my chest. Memories-blurred and fragmented-flooded back: secret meetings, pain, and suffering, deals sealed with darkness, betrayal, and rejection. The rejection was a lie; I knew that now. But the sting of that false rejection still echoed in my heart.
This scum-this demon-had tricked me. He tricked Knox and Kane into agreeing to a deal so that he could get his hands on my unborn daughter. He offered us help, the "help" coming in the deceitful form of my mates in bed with that whore. The betrayal hurt, but what cut even deeper was the knowledge that Knox and Kane had lived all this time remembering everything. They missed out on this pregnancy, missed out on the life they had helped create, on watching it grow and bloom inside me. And my pups-our pups-had been deprived of their fathers' voices, their gentle touches, and tender caresses.
Because of this man....
This demon.
"Seems that way," I replied coolly, my voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions swirling within me. I could feel Astaroth's eyes boring into me, his expression shifting as he read my thoughts, sensing the murderous intent brewing beneath my calm exterior. He knew he knew what I was thinking.
And he knew that when all this was over, I would find a way to kill him. It wasn't a threat. It was a promise.
The balance of power had shifted, and we both felt it. The tension crackled in the air, alive and charged. Fluffy remained at my side, her unwavering loyalty a testament to this new dynamic. I wasn't just the victim anymore. I wasn't the pawn in someone else's game. I was the Lycan heir.
I locked eyes with Sebastian, the man who had tried to destroy me, and with ice-cold certainty, I gave the command.
"Kill him," I ordered. There was no hesitation in my voice, no flicker of doubt. This had to be done. 'He' had to be dealt with. He had caused enough pain, enough suffering. And I was finished playing the victim.
Sebastian's face paled as the weight of my words crashed down on him. His gaze flickered between me and Astaroth, desperate, searching for help.
"You will start a war," Sebastian gasped, his voice trembling as he scrambled to find an escape.
"He's right," Astaroth warned, his tone low and measured. "And you are hardly in fighting condition, given your... delicate state." He smirked, his gaze dropping to my growing belly like I hadn't noticed I was pregnant. Dickhead.
"I'm pregnant, not dying," I seethed, fury boiling beneath the surface. "And between who? I'm the heir to 'his' pack, and he tried to kidnap me. Why? I'd guess to do the same thing to me and my unborn babies as I just ordered to be done to him."
"Two wrongs don't make a right," Astaroth shot back quickly, his voice laced with something unfamiliar-nervousness. He didn't like this, didn't like that I was taking control. And I loved it.
"Why is there one rule for him and
another for me?" I shot back, shaking my head at Astaroth. I
ave?
refused to let him control this narrative, refused to let him turn this е into another game. My focus remained on Sebastian, watching the rage bubbling just beneath the surface as he squirmed under
Fluffy's hold.
"You will divide the pack," Sebastian spat, his voice rising in panic. "You think they want a female leader? An outsider? You think I'm acting alone? I'm not!" His words tumbled out in a desperate rush, each one laced with fear. And that fear pleased me. I watched as Fluffy's teeth sank deeper into his flesh, blood oozing from the wounds, his face contorted in agony.
"More lies," I laughed, stepping closer to him, my voice cold and unyielding. "I offered to let you live, Bash..." I trailed off, watching as blood sprayed from his mouth as he struggled to speak.
"How fucking big of you!" Sebastian screamed, his voice hoarse and filled with rage as Fluffy tightened her grip.
"And let's not forget," I continued, my
eyes narrowing, "I saved your life once before, and this is how you
repay me? Why should I offer you et
the same kindness again?" Sebastian's eyes darted around the tunnel, panic written in every line of his face. He was losing control, and
he knew it.
"Because there is more going on here than just 'my' pack wanting you dead," he gasped, blood dripping from his lips. "And if you kill me, you won't know who your friends are... or who your enemies are." He choked, his voice rasping as he fought for air. "More lies," I scoffed, nodding to Fluffy. I was done listening to his desperate pleas.
Fluffy didn't need to be told twice. In one swift, brutal motion, she clamped down harder, her teeth
slicing through his flesh with easeet
The tunnel filled with the sound of his final, gurgling scream, the echo of it bouncing off the cold stone walls before it was abruptly cut off.
Blood sprayed in a dramatic, almost theatrical display as his body went limp beneath Fluffy's powerful jaws. His eyes rolled back in his head, the light in them extinguishing as his lifeless form slumped to the ground.
The tunnel grew eerily quiet. The heavy stillness that followed his death hung in the air, oppressive and thick. The metallic scent of blood mixed with the dampness of the underground, creating a nauseating combination that clung to my senses. But I didn't flinch. I didn't recoil. This was justice.
Astaroth's slow clap echoed through the silence, breaking the tension like a knife slicing through butter. I turned to face him, my gaze hard, unyielding.
"Bravo," he declared, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "But was it really worth it, dear?" He tilted his head, a sly smile creeping onto his face. I ignored him, wiping the blood from my face as I stepped over Sebastian's corpse.
"It was necessary," I replied, my voice steady, though my heart pounded in my chest. The weight of my actions hadn't fully settled yet, but I would deal with that later.noveldrama
Fluffy padded silently to my side, her fur matted with blood, but her eyes gleamed with loyalty. I rested a cuffed hand on her head, feeling the warmth of her presence, a silent reminder of my strength.
"Necessary?" Astaroth raised an eyebrow. "Or foolish?"
I met his gaze, unblinking.
"Both."
